Promptea is a catalogue with a newspaper attached, for the small pieces that make AI agents useful: prompts, skills, MCP servers and the tools around them.
Why
Good prompts and good servers are scattered across gists, threads and README files, and they rot quietly. Registries solve discovery and stop there. Nobody tells you which of the twenty thousand listed servers is worth the twenty minutes. So this site does both jobs: it keeps the catalogue, and it says out loud which entries earned their keep.
How it is kept
Anyone can publish, but nothing publishes itself. Accounts are approved by hand and so are entries. It is slower than an open firehose and that is the entire point. The catalogue is worth something exactly as long as somebody is reading it before you do.
